INTRODUCTION

Labor has been defined as an activity intended to be productive with the intention of getting a gain or reward. Labor involves activity, sweating (physical or otherwise). Labor Is the primary way expected to get gain!

However, we have seen and known that Labor does not automatically guaranty anything – hence the quest to understand the addition and necessity of Favor.

FACTS ABOUT FAVOR AND LABOR:

1. LABOR IS GOOD BUT IT IS NOT ENOUGH!
Laboring is not the problem! It is not good to be lazy. It is not good to be slothful but it is not an end in itself!

NO WORK, NO EATING. IT IS EXPECTED TO WORK IN ORDER TO EAT

2Th 3:10 For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat.
2Th 3:11 For we hear that some among you walk in idleness, not busy at work, but busybodies. Ways of the ant?

1. Father, the labor that will not allow a man to eat or have rest – abort it in my life!
2. The Labor that puts a man in the bondage of hopelessness and failure – deliver me!
3. Wherever my efforts are not gaining adequate reward – SET ME FREE NOW!
4. The labor that is killing me softly and gradually – deliver me!

LABOR IS EXPECTED TO FREE A MAN FROM POVERTY BUT IT IS NOT AUTOMATIC

Pro 6: 9 When will you arise from your sleep?
Pro 6:10 A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest,
Pro 6:11 and poverty will come upon you like a robber, and want like an armed man.

5. Daddy, let favor cause my efforts to feed me and deliver me from poverty!
6. Lord! Let your divine favor cause me to arise and bring rewards to me!

2. LABOR MAY YIELD RESULT BUT DOES NOT GUARANTEE REWARD

This is very common in sports where for years after a final, everybody will be saying the team that won was lucky! Why? Because they had only 2 bad shots at goal and yet they scored and their opponents had over 20 good shots and did not score. That is a clear illustration of why I crave favor this year. I do not want to shoot shots that will not achieve anything! I do not want to start a venture that will go nowhere!

LUCK IS REAL BUT ACCIDENTAL, FAVOR FROM ABOVE IS A GIFT AND INTENTIONAL! AHIMAAZ GOT NO REWARD.

CEV – 2Sa 18:22 Ahimaaz spoke to Joab again, “No matter what happens, I still want to run. And besides, the Ethiopian has already left.” Joab said, “Why should you run? You won’t get a reward for the news you have!”
2Sa 18:23 “I’ll run no matter what!” Ahimaaz insisted. “All right then, run!” Joab said. Ahimaaz took the road through the Jordan Valley and outran the Ethiopian.

7. Father, I will not shoot IN VAIN, I will not keep trying IN VAIN!
8. All my efforts this year will be led by favor and guided by mercy!
9. Every attempt at progress that is destined to fail, I ABORT THEM ALL!
10. This year, my efforts will not fail!
11. This year, my desires will be met!
12. Daddy, deliver me from the power of struggling to nowhere!
13. This year, this month and this season, I, (insert name) will shoot to score in all my endeavors!
14. The favor that guarantees prosperity in all a man does – give it to me now.

AHIMAAZ WAS WARNED NOT TO RUN AS THERE WOULD BE NO REWARD BUT HE INSISTED ON RUNNING. HE WAS ASKED TO PARK ASIDE

2Sa 18:30 David told him, “Stand over there and wait.” Ahimaaz went over and stood there.

2Sa 18:31 The Ethiopian came and said, “Your Majesty, today I have good news! The LORD has rescued you from all your enemies!”

15. Father, TO AVOID WASTAGE, I will not run without a command!
16. Daddy, the power that makes a man labor and run for the sake of just doing it – delete in my life!
17. Whatever it will take, by your mercy – I will not only reach, it will be recorded that I have ARRIVED.
18. In the name of Jesus, I will not be parked aside while others are celebrated!

3. LABOR WITHOUT FAVOR WILL LEAD TO FRUSTRATION!

PETER WAS FRUSTRATED! ALL NIGHT – CAUGHT NOTHING. NOT EVEN ONE!
He did not know Jesus! He did not ask for Jesus. He had left the scene. Favor sent Jesus! Favor made Jesus to choose his boat! Favor chose him!

Luk 5:3 Getting into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, he asked him to put out a little from the land. And he sat down and taught the people from the boat.
Luk 5:5 And Simon answered, “Master, we toiled all night and took nothing! But at your word I will let down the nets.”

19. The curse of frustration in my life, let the power of favor destroy it.
20. Let your favor choose me and my family and help me!
21. Let your favor choose me and my efforts and help me!
22. The rain of favor that ends frustration in people’s life – send it to me!
23. Against the tide and power of hopelessness- Lord, encourage me with favor!

FAVOR IS TO MOVE FROM CATCHING NOTHING ALL NIGHT TO CATCHING A GREAT ”MULTITUDE” IN ONE ATTEMPT IN MINUTES

Luk 5:6 And doing this, they enclosed a great multitude of fish. And their net was being torn.

24. Holy Spirit, translate my effort from nothing to a “multitude”
25. Lord! Today, Today – Today! Let favor find me and my family!
26. The helper that will activate the dormant KEY OF FAVOR in my life – send them now!
27. Wherever the instrument of my work is, let favor cause my helper to see it.
28. What I have not been able to get in years of toiling, let favor give me in days!

4. LABOR BIRTHS SWEAT ALONE BUT BIRTHS PROMOTION WITH FAVOR

Everywhere in the scripture and in life, I have seen people with average capacity sweating for years and then BOOM – one act of favor and kindness upgrades them! One act! Just one act!

ISAAC WAS RICH BECAUSE GOD SHOWED HIM FAVOR IN FAMINE AND BLESSED HIM
Gen 26:12 And Isaac sowed in that land and reaped in the same year a hundredfold. The LORD blessed him,
Gen 26:13 and the man became rich, and gained more and more until he became very wealthy.
Gen 26:20 the herdsmen of Gerar quarreled with Isaac’s herdsmen, saying, “The water is ours.” So he called the name of the well Esek, because they contended with him.
Gen 26:21 Then they dug another well, and they quarreled over that also, so he called its name Sitnah.

29. In the name of Jesus – contention will cease in my life and favor will reign
30. Daddy – all devourers destroying the results of my labor – destroy them!
31. Against ALL adversaries that is making it difficult for me to enjoy the fruit of my labor – fight my battles!
32. The curse of sweating with nothing to show for it – Break it now!
33. Every power and their agent that is not allowing me to have rest for the “wells I am digging” – ARREST THEM AND DELIVER ME!

REHOBOTH!
Gen 26:22 And he moved from there and dug another well, and they did not quarrel over it. So he called its name Rehoboth, saying, “For now the LORD has made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.”

34. IN THE NAME OF JESUS, FROM NOW, I DECREE CONCERNING ME AND MY FAMILY, THE POWER OF FAVOR – SUPERNATURAL FAVOR , DIVINE FAVOR , ANOINTED FAVOR WILL GIVE US REST!
