TEXT – MARK 10:46-52

INTRODUCTION

Bartimaeus was blind but he was not stupid. He did not ask for blindness neither did he sign for his condition but he choose to remain unstoppable.

WHAT HE STOPPED IN ORDER NOT TO BE STOPPED?

1. HE STOPPED HOPELESSNESS

Mar 10:46 And they came to Jericho. And as he was leaving Jericho with his disciples and a great crowd, BARTIMAEUS, A BLIND BEGGAR, THE SON OF TIMAEUS, WAS SITTING BY THE ROADSIDE.
Mar 10:47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

HOPE TAKES YOU FROM THE ZONE OF WAITING TO ACTION!

“Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, the son of Timaeus, was sitting by the roadside. “

1. All forms of hopelessness that lives and sleeps with me – I banish them!
2. The condition or conditions of life that has rendered me irrelevant – in your mercy deliver me.
3. Whatever it will take, I (insert name) will not be frustrated!
4. Whatever is happening now will not define me and will not limit me, I will excel.
5. Everything that is synonymous with being stopped in my life – expire in the name of Jesus.

ECC 9:4 BUT HE WHO IS JOINED WITH ALL THE LIVING HAS HOPE, FOR A LIVING DOG IS BETTER THAN A DEAD LION.

6. I am joined to the living – I declare that I have hope in the name of Jesus.
7. I am joined to the living – I declare that I have life and my dreams have life, they will live!
8. I am joined to the living – I declare that my tomorrow will be better than my yesterday.
9. We are joined to the living – life is our portion. Excellence is our portion.
10. Even when I have given up, surprise me with your divine intervention.

2. HE STOPPED IGNORANCE

MAR 10:47 AND WHEN HE HEARD THAT IT WAS JESUS OF NAZARETH, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

YOU NEED TO HEAR! YOU NEED TO KNOW! I DETEST “I DON’T KNOW AS AN ANSWER” WHEN COUNSELLING PEOPLE.

“AND WHEN HE HEARD THAT IT WAS JESUS OF NAZARETH”

11. Everything that ignorance has taken away from me – let mercy return it.
12. What I do not know that is hurting my destiny – show me today!
13. Everything I need to hear, know or see for me to leave this same spot and move forward – show me by force, by fire.
14. I, (insert name) will not be dumb. I will not be clueless!
15. Wherever the information I need to progress in life is, lead me there!
16. Every man that carries the secret of what I need to know – connect us this month!
17. The thirst for knowledge, the thirst for the right solutions – give me that craving!
18. The spirit of stubbornness that makes a man refuse to change based on data and information – deliver me from them.

3. HE STOPPED SILENCE

Mar 10:47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

SO MANY EXAMPLES IN THE SCRIPTURES – IF YOU KEEP SILENT, YOU WILL BE STOPPED!

HAGAR CRIED OUT AND DID NOT LOSE HER SON
Gen 21:16 Then she went and sat down opposite him a good way off, about the distance of a bowshot, for she said, “Let me not look on the death of the child.” And as she sat opposite him, she lifted up her voice and wept.

THE WIDOW OF SON OF THE PROPHET CRIED OUT AND DID NOT LOSE HER SONS AS SLAVES!
2Ki 4:1 Now the wife of one of the sons of the prophets cried to Elisha, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the LORD, but the creditor has come to take my two children to be his slaves.”

It is time to cry!

19. Every power that wants to shut me up! Father, shut them permanently
20. Every controlling and monitoring spirit that is not giving me space to exhibit and announce my purpose – disable them.
21. Father, give power to my voice! Give me a voice to speak and make a difference!
22. I speak! I decree! I pray! I announce and no evil will befall me and my loved ones!
23. ALL MY CRIES IN THE PAST THAT HAS BEEN FRUITLESS – OPEN THE BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE AND VISIT ME!

4. HE STOPPED DISTRACTIONS AND DISCOURAGEMENT

Mar 10:48 And many rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

24. No matter how bad it is, I will not be confounded!
25. Whatever is asking me to shush and keep quiet – I reject you! I refuse to be distracted!
26. Every distraction in my life planning to stop me that I don’t even know is a distraction – show me and deliver me.
27. Everyone and everything that they have repeatedly told me I cannot be or become – surprise them and surprise me!

5. HE STOPPED FEAR AND TIMIDITY

Mar 10:51 And Jesus said to him, “What do you want me to do for you?” And the blind man said to him, “Rabbi, let me recover my sight.”
Mar 10:52 And Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he recovered his sight and followed him on the way.

When he was finally called after getting the attention of Jesus, he still needed to speak!

28. Father – every curse of fear and timidity that limits a man from completing his breakthrough is broken in my life.
29. The curse of abandoned project – be broken!
30. The curse of giving up when I am close to breakthroughs – be broken.

31. NOW ASK WHAT YOU WANT!

For in Jesus name we have prayed!
