THE PATH OF DESTRUCTION – PART 1

 TEXT: 2 SAMUEL 11: 1-27

 INTRODUCTION

David decided to take a break from War. He got lazy. This led to a series of unexpected and unplanned events in his life and that of a man ( one of his soldiers) called Uriah and his wife Bathsheba. We would use the story from the perspective of the three of them to raise prayer points to avoid the path of destruction.

 PRAYER POINTS

FATHER IN THE NAME OF JESUS…

2Sa 11:1  The following spring, at the time of the year when kings usually go to war, David sent out Joab with his officers and the Israelite army; they defeated the Ammonites and besieged the city of Rabbah. But David himself stayed in Jerusalem.

2Sa 11:2  One day, late in the afternoon, David got up from his nap and went to the palace roof. As he walked around up there, he saw a woman taking a bath in her house. She was very beautiful.

  1. As the Lord lives, I abort the occurrence of the day that will commence the beginning of Pain in my life .
  2. This year will not be my year of Pain. It will not be my year of destruction
  3. Every spirit of wandering that brings a man so low and downgrades him below the plan of God for his life – I reject you in and around my destiny.
  4. When men are at war I will not be sleeping.
  5. When I should be alert and praying in the spirit, I will not be slumbering.
  6. Whatever I have been doing before that is helping me to be strong, this year, I will not backslide.
  7. I reject every false sense of “arrival” and complacency.
  8. Lord wake me up! Lord – wake me up! Wake me up on time.
  9. In the season of war, I will not be lazy!
  10. Lord wake me up from slumber. Deliver me from excessive sleep!
  11. Lord, may I not become too comfortable with Success. Help me to remain focused.
  12. Every power that lures a man to the wrong location to ensnare him – you will fail in my life.
  13. When I should be running and active, I will not ” stay” back!
  14. I speak to you my leg – you will not carry me to the place of pain!
  15. As the Lord lives, my leg will not carry me to the place of temptation. My heart will not yield to the trap of destruction
  16. In every season of my life, I will not be weak.
  17. That location of destruction, keep me far away from it.
  18. As the Lord lives, My sight will not mislead me.
  19. I receive power to resist negative sight!
  20. The fact that something is ” beautiful” does not mean it’s meant for me! Lord, Help me to “mind my own business”

2Sa 11:3  So he sent a messenger to find out who she was, and learned that she was Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam and the wife of Uriah the Hittite.

2Sa 11:4  David sent messengers to get her; they brought her to him and he made love to her. (She had just finished her monthly ritual of purification.) Then she went back home.

  1. Lord, give me the power of restraint from taking a decision that goes against your clear will.
  2. The power to refuse to act on natural instincts that destroys – Lord give me.
  3. I reject, renounce and flee all appearance of evil in Jesus name.
  4. Anything that is not mine, Lord let me not look for it and let me not send for it Lord! Mercy!
  5. Everything that I desire that is poisonous, Kill the thirst and hunger Lord!
  6. Every seed of negative attraction that has been sown into my life, Kill it before it germinates Lord.
  7. Whatever it will take, that which will destroy me, keep me back.
  8. I refuse to enjoy that which is not ordained for me as food!
  9. Plant your fear in me that I may flee sin.
  10. Every alliance and association that will make me go against your counsel – Lord Keep me from it.

FOR WE HAVE PRAYED IN JESUS NAME. AMEN.
