REMOVING THE OBSTACLES TO CHANGE

INTRODUCTION

There are some obstacles to change that must go for results to happen in your life this year! There are some blockades – internal and external that must be removed for the change to happen and be permanent!

1. PRIDE AND EGO

NAMAAN
EGO DISTRACTS PEOPE FROM ACHIEVING SIMPLE OBJECTIVES!
Naaman only wanted and needed to be healed! He almost missed it due to his pride and ego!
2Ki 5:1 Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable, because by him the LORD had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper.
2Ki 5:10 And Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, “Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall be restored, and you shall be clean.”
2Ki 5:11 But Naaman was angry and went away, saying, “Behold, I thought that he would surely come out to me and stand and call upon the name of the LORD his God, and wave his hand over the place and cure the leper.

The procedure cannot be more important that the substance!

1. Daddy, every behavior and arrogance that has kept your blessings away from me – destroy now!
2. Father, every form of pride and its manifestation that keeps pushing helpers away from me for many years – uproot it now!
3. No matter how big I am or may become, Lord – please keep me humble!
4. The power of humility that removes all forms of “BUT” and pain – let it manifest in my life!
5. When I am close to my breakthrough, I command the spirit of pride that makes a man miss the mark to fail in my life!
6. The power that makes a man place ego and self above what matters – be destroyed!
7. I command the spirit of pride that blocks the ear of a man and makes him deaf when God is helping him to expire in my life this year!
8. Father, from the tomb of stubbornness due to pride and ego – deliver me.

BREAKTHROUGH CAME BECAUSE HE WAS ACCESSIBLE!

2Ki 5:13 His servants went over to him and said, “Sir, if the prophet had told you to do something difficult, you would have done it. So why don’t you do what he said? Go wash and be cured.”
2Ki 5:2 And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman’s wife.
2Ki 5:3 And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy.

9. Father, the power of humility that attracts all forms of help and protection from the young and old – give me now!
10. When the right advice is given to move me forward, let be not be stubborn in my own ways!

2. ANGER
Some people are not just stubborn, they get angry easily.

A. ANGER WAS ALREADY WAITING TO FINISH MOSES! SCARY! HE KILLED AND RAN AWAY

Exo 2:11 After Moses had grown up, he went out to where his own people were hard at work, and he saw an Egyptian beating one of them.
Exo 2:12 Moses looked around to see if anyone was watching, then he killed the Egyptian and hid his body in the sand.
Exo 2:15 When the king heard what Moses had done, the king wanted to kill him. But Moses escaped and went to the land of Midian. One day, Moses was sitting there by a well,

11. Every seed of anger and emotional outbursts that is waiting to destroy me – be destroyed in Jesus name!
12. The power of Self Control against the spirit of anger – give me now.
13. All the excuses I have been giving for the anger I have been executing – I am sorry, have mercy on me.

“Exo 2:11 After Moses had grown up,”
13. As I am growing, the power of anger will not grow with me.
14. Every strange and unproductive tendencies that is growing with me and is intended to destroy me in future – uproot now!
15. The tendency to misbehave and do that which is wrong – remove it in my life.
16. Whatever is following me secretly in order to destroy me openly – expose, expel and expunge.
17. Whatever is secretly growing in my life that will terminate your glory in the future – Father, remove!
18. Moses failed when it matters, whatever it will take, in the name of Jesus, I (insert name) will not fail!

B. ANGER MAKES YOU DISOBEY DECISIONS.
MOSES KNOCKED ON THE ROCK INSTEAD OF TALKING TO THE ROCK!
Num 20:7 The LORD said to Moses,
Num 20:8 “Take the stick that is in front of the Covenant Box, and then you and Aaron assemble the whole community. There in front of them all speak to that rock over there, and water will gush out of it. In this way you will bring water out of the rock for the people, for them and their animals to drink.”

C. ANGER MAKES YOU COMMIT ERROR MULTIPLE TIMES
MOSES KNOCKED IT TWICE! OUT OF ANGER
Num 20:10 He and Aaron assembled the whole community in front of the rock, and Moses said, “Listen, you rebels! Do we have to get water out of this rock for you?”
Num 20:11 Then Moses raised the stick and struck the rock twice with it, and a great stream of water gushed out, and all the people and animals drank.
Num 20:12 But the LORD reprimanded Moses and Aaron. He said, “Because you did not have enough faith to acknowledge my holy power before the people of Israel, you will not lead them into the land that I promised to give them.”

He never entered the promised land! God can give you a marriage, work, business of promise and you throw it away because of anger!

19. The anger and temperamental behavior that will bring me pain. STOP. STOP now!
20. Any stranger around me that might be used by the devil to make me miss my goal – separate us!
21. Daddy, deliver me from the anger that will make me disrespect you, disrespect your instruction and people around me!
22. Father, any emotional tendency that has power over me – deliver me now!

D. ANGER LEADS TO SIN!
Psa 37:8 Don’t be angry or furious. Anger can lead to sin.
Eph 4:26 Don’t get so angry that you sin. Don’t go to bed angry
Eph 4:27 and don’t give the devil a chance.

23. The kind of anger that takes a man to hell – take it from me permanently.
24. The kind of anger that destroys the health and wealth of a man – deliver me now!

E. SCRIPTURE EQUATES ANGER TO FOOLISHNESS!
Ecc 7:9 Be not quick in your spirit to become angry, for anger lodges in the heart of fools.

25. Daddy, the quiet kind of anger that has turned me to a fool – dislodge it from my heart!
26. The type of anger that springs up with no notice to dictate foolish decisions in my life – I renounce and reject you.

F. YOU WANT TO WIN – MANAGE YOUR ANGER
Pro 16:32 Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.
Pro 19:11 Good sense makes one slow to anger, and it is his glory to overlook an offense.
Learn to let go! You will be pained! You will feel cheated! Learn to let go!

27. The spirit of self control that will make me a winner this year – give me now!
28. In order to overcome all offenses, give me good sense!

G. YOU NEED TO ALSO MANAGE ANGER AROUND YOU – STOP PROVOKING PEOPLE AND PROTECT YOURSELF FROM PROVOCATORS – KEEP A DISTANCE!

Pro 15:1 A kind answer soothes angry feelings, but harsh words stir them up.
Pro 15:2 Words of wisdom come from the wise, but fools speak foolishness.

29. The power to give the right answer throughout this year – give me now.
30. The words of wisdom to overcome anger directed towards me – give me now!
31. The spirit of foolishness exhibited by angry people, loose your hold on my life!

H. FORGIVENESS TAMES ANGER – IT CAN BE MANAGED – FORGIVE!

CEV – Eph 4:31 Stop being bitter and angry and mad at others. Don’t yell at one another or curse each other or ever be rude.
Eph 4:32 Instead, be kind and merciful, and forgive others, just as God forgave you because of Christ.

32. Father, for every malice that is holding my heart hostage, I choose to forgive now!
33. From all forms of emotional baggage – malice, anger, unforgiveness – FREE ME NOW!
