INTRODUCTION
TEXT : Matthew 14: 24-27

Mat 14:24 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.
Mat 14:25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.
Mat 14:26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.
Mat 14:27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, BE OF GOOD CHEER; IT IS I; BE NOT AFRAID.

A. BE OF GOOD CHEER IS DEEP

Mat 14:24 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.

1. Irrespective of where I am at, Lord – I see HOPE!
2. Irrespective of where I am at, Lord – I KNOW IT WILL BE ALRIGHT!
3. Irrespective of what I have seen and seeing, Lord – I know the contrary wind and storm will cease!
4. As concerning my dream and destiny, I will not be confounded!
5. Every wind that is contrary against me – you will fail!

B. BE OF GOOD CHEER IS A STATEMENT OF HOPE AND OPTIMISM

Mat 14:25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.

6. In the “night” of my situation – INTERVENE NOW!
7. Lord Jesus, I invite you to walk and work on my situation.
8. I declare in the name of Jesus, decisive Unsolicited help will find me.
9. Show up for me through unexpected sources!
10. Even in areas that I have given up completely – SHOW UP!
11. The same sea that is tossing them around was what Jesus walked on – WALK ON THE TURBULENT SEA OF MY LIFE AND BRING REST!

C. BEING OF GOOD CHEER IS A CHOICE

Mat 14:26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.

12. Even when it is bleak – I choose joy! I REJECT DOOM! I choose to be happy!
13. Even when I have been defeated before now – I choose to stand! I CHOOSE TO SEE A NEW BEGINNING!
14. I choose to stay with people who are positive. Every association carrying a defeatist mentality – I reject THEM!
15. I reject fear, I choose faith!

D. BE OF GOOD CHEER IS NOT AN ADVICE, IT IS A COMMAND

Mat 14:27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, BE OF GOOD CHEER; IT IS I; BE NOT AFRAID.

16. I speak to you at once ( insert name ) – Cheer up!
17. Father – SPEAK TO CONTRARY WIND OF DOUBTS IN MY LIFE AND TURN IT AROUND!
18. Father – I SPEAK TO THE CONTRARY WIND OF STAGNANCY – STOP!

E. BEING OF GOOD CHEER IS THE ONLY WAY!

GNB – Mat 14:27 Jesus spoke to them at once. “Courage!” he said. “It is I. Don’t be afraid!”
Mat 14:27 At once, Jesus said to them, “Don’t worry! I am Jesus. Don’t be afraid.”

19. Father give me courage to remain standing in the face of great odd!
20. The curse and power of depression, I break you now!
21. Father, use testimonies to encourage me!
22. Whatever I have left – life, family, salvation – use them to cheer me up!
23. Before the next 24 hours expires – encourage me with raw miracles!
24. I command in the name of JESUS – LET THERE BE A WAY FOR ME AND MY FAMILY!

FOR IN JESUS NAME WE HAVE PRAYED.
