INTRODUCTION

TEXT: 2 Kings 6:23 – 33

It was clear in Verse 23, that for a while, based on what God did through Elisha, Israel had peace against Syria until verse 24

 Some time later King Benhadad of Syria led his entire army against Israel and laid siege to the city of Samaria. As a result of the siege the food shortage in the city was so severe that a donkey’s head cost eighty pieces of silver, and half a pound of dove’s dung cost five pieces of silver. 2Ki 6:24-25 ( Good news version) 

An embargo is a siege, a ban, a blockade, an order or a restriction that do not allow the performance or execution of a plan or a trade. Once there is a ban or a siege in place – there will be no movement and once stagnancy prevails, there will be famine!

FACTS ABOUT AN EMBARGO

A. CAN BE THIRD PARTY INFLICTED OR SELF INFLICTED

2Ki 6:24 Some time later King Benhadad of Syria led his entire army against Israel and laid siege to the city of Samaria.

1. Every “King of Syria” in my life – spiritual, physical or emotional kings – Lord, dethrone them.
2. The embargo that has brought my destiny under any lordship that is not of the Lord, terminate it Lord.
3. Any agent or influence – close or distant that has imposed and facilitating a limit upon my life goals – expose them.
4. Every “stranger” in my life in the clothes of a friend knowingly or unconsciously placing an embargo on my creativity – separate us Lord!

2Ki 7:2 The personal attendant of the king said to Elisha, “That can’t happen not even if the LORD himself were to send grain at once!” “You will see it happen, but you won’t get to eat any of the food,” Elisha replied.

5. Lord, my mouth will not destroy me!
6. The Bible says in Prov. 18:21- Death and life are in the power of the tongue: – Lord I choose life! My tongue chooses life!
7. Every limitation and ban that I have imposed on my destiny or on the destiny of anyone around me based on my speech, Lord, I recall them! I cancel them!
8. Even when what I see contradicts what you have said, I plan a divine embargo on error of speech. I will not misspeak in the name of Jesus
9. Every Embargo and Curse that I have placed on myself and MY RELATIONSHIPS out of ANGER – Lord,
I reverse it.

B. EMBARGOES CAN BE UNSOLICITED, UNDESERVED AND RANDOM

KJV – 2Ki 6:24 And it came to pass after this, that Benhadad king of Syria gathered all his host, and went up, and besieged Samaria.

10. That strange season of bans and embargoes that will cause me and my family pain – Lord, I command it to cease in Jesus name.
11. ” gathered all his host” – Every gathering that is taking place now, every meeting that is happening designed to derail the hand of God in my life – scatter such meeting
12. Lord every “gathering” that will only result in an embargo against US- Scatter them Lord!
13. ” and went up”. The build-up of forces planning to “go up” against the plan of Heaven for my destiny, Lord, take away their strength. Destroy their capacity.
14. The embargoes and siege that has already gone up and installed – Daddy, bring them down!
15. If there is anything in our DNA that makes me susceptible to sieges, Lord rework my DNA and make me resistant to embargoes.
16. Every unwarranted, unsolicited ban and embargo that has followed me for year, reverse it to Uncommon Blessing!

C. EMBARGOES BRINGS PAIN AND DISCOMFORT

2Ki 6:28 What’s your trouble?” She answered, “The other day this woman here suggested that we eat my child, and then eat her child the next day.
2Ki 6:29 So we cooked my son and ate him. The next day I told her that we would eat her son, but she had hidden him!”

17. Lord Jesus, Enough is Enough! Grant me Rest!
18. Lord, in every area that I have compromised your laws due to the past embargoes on my life, I repent Lord! Show me mercy!
19. It is madness for a woman to consider eating her child to remain alive. Lord, every form of subtle and open insanity that embargoes are trying to inflict on me, I renounce and reject it!
20. I will not be a casualty of an embargo! None of my “seed” will be a casualty!

D. DELIVERANCE STARTS WITH ANGER AGAINST STATUS QUO

2Ki 6:30 Hearing this, the king tore his clothes in dismay, and the people who were close to the wall could see that he was wearing sackcloth under his clothes.

2Ki 6:31 He exclaimed, “May God strike me dead if Elisha is not beheaded before the day is over!”

2Ki 6:32 And he sent a messenger to get Elisha. Meanwhile Elisha was at home with some elders who were visiting him. Before the king’s messenger arrived, Elisha said to the elders, “That murderer is sending someone to kill me! Now, when he gets here, shut the door and don’t let him come in. The king himself will be right behind him.”

21. Lord, in any area I have given space for this embargo to continue – wake me up!
22. Whoever and wherever my divine helper is – to set me and my family free from all embargoes – Connect me Lord!

E. EMBARGOES ARE LIFTED BY PROPHETIC INSTRUCTIONS

2Ki 7:1 Elisha answered, “Listen to what the LORD says! By this time tomorrow you will be able to buy in Samaria ten pounds of the best wheat or twenty pounds of barley for one piece of silver.”

23. I decree in the name of Jesus that from now, PHYSICALLY,  the embargo of ( input the name of the embargo) against ( input the name of the recipient of the breakthrough) – BE LIFTED IN THE NAME OF JESUS!
24. I decree in the name of Jesus that from now, EMOTIONAL,  the embargo of ( input the name of the embargo) against ( input the name of the recipient of the breakthrough) – BE LIFTED IN THE NAME OF JESUS!
25. I decree in the name of Jesus that from now, FINANCIALLY,  the embargo of ( input the name of the embargo) against ( input the name of the recipient of the breakthrough) – BE LIFTED IN THE NAME OF JESUS!

So shall it be in Jesus name. Amen.
